‎I was under pressure to step down – Bamidele

Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Mr Opeyemi Bamidele has said that the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC, had prevailed him to step down.
Bamidele refuted the claim that he has stepped down for either the APC or PDP candidate expressing optimism that he would win the race.
After accreditation, the Labour Party candidate said, “in the last five days, I have been under tremendous pressure from the All Progressives Congress, APC,as well as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and their candidates.

He said “the truth about it is that I consider it as the normal thing to do. It is a three horse race and I am sure every political party would strategise. I guess it’s been an attempt but by the grace of God, I am very much in the race. I am convinced that by the grace of God, I am the candidate to beat in this election.”
