Man breaks into home of 100-year-old woman before raping and killing her

A man was arrested on a charge of rape after breaking into an elderly
woman’s home and raping her, according to police in Kansas.

Now, 37-year-old Kasey Nesbitt of Sedgwick, is facing up to life in
prison after being convicted of first-degree felony murder, rape and
aggravated burglary with the intent to commit a sexual assault.

According to the police investigation, Nesbitt kicked in the door of the
home belonging to 100-year-old Martha Schell located in the 800 block
of South Crestway.

He proceeded to rape her before beating her. He stole valuables from the
home before fleeing from the scene. Schell died from blood clots that
formed after the attack.

The attack left her with a broken back and other injuries. Police
managed to catch Nesbitt after analyzing sperm that he left at the
scene.
