Police are looking to arrest two men on a charge of assault after
allegedly beating up a man, who was accused of being a racist, according
to police in the United Kingdom.
Bolton police said that incident unfolded around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday.
The victim and his friends were outside “The Corner Club” bar on
Bradshawgate, when a man standing nearby accused him of being a racist.
A scuffle broke out, which was quickly broken up by security guards. The
suspect was allowed to go back into the bar, and he returned with
several friends.
The suspect and another man began punching and kicking the victim’s head
until he sustained multiple facial fractures. He was taken to a
hospital, where he underwent surgery to have a metal plate wired to his
jaw.
One suspect was described as a black man, around 25 years old, muscular
build and very short hair. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a
long-sleeved light colored top, black trousers and was carrying a bag.
The second suspect was described as a black man, around 25 years old, slim build with short curly hair.
He was wearing a long-sleeved black top with a white mark to the left of
the chest, black trousers and a gold chain around his neck.
A video showed the men chasing the victim a short distance before
subjecting him to a barrage of punches and kicks, which caused him
serious injuries, police said.
He had a plate put in his jaw and also had to have his mouth wired shut
to realign his teeth as a result of the assault. So far, no arrests have
been made.
