‘Words cannot describe the devastation that we feel right now, and would
ask that those who are able to please contribute to this meaningful
cause in order to assist Montrell’s family financially during this time
of mourning.

‘Rest in Peace, Montrell, you will always be our hero.’

The 32-year-old’s friends remembered him as someone who was passionate and loved his job.

‘He loved his job,’ friend Darnell Murdock told The Advocate.

‘It motivated him to go out and change people’s lives. He was on the
force to help people, to make you have a better day.

‘He was humble, kind and sweet. … He wasn’t on there to write tickets. I
don’t understand how this could happen to someone like him.’
