A mother was banned from seeing her own teenage children after having sex with her teenage students.
The 49-year-old mother of Pennsylvania, was a special education
teacher’s assistant at the McKeesport Area High School, when she slept
with her students.
Michelle Mellinger pleaded guilty to having sex with five teenage students and trying to have sex with another.
Mellinger knew that her actions were wrong as she told one of the students in a text message: “I just became a pedophile.”
She told another student in a text message that having sex with him was on her bucket list.
She pleaded guilty to five counts of institutional sexual assault,
statutory sexual assault and one attempted assault. Prosecutors said
that the students were aged between 15 and 17.
Mellinger has been sentenced to 11 and a half to 23 months in prison,
and after that, she has to serve one year of house arrest and five years
probation.
She was also ordered to have no contact with teenagers, including her own two kids.
