A mother is heartbroken over the death of her son who tried to protect her from a rapist.
The woman of South Africa, told police that she was on the way to drop off two her sons at the school before the attack occurred.
42-year-old Segomotso Garesape said that she was not far from the school, when she realized that someone was following them.
The man grabbed Segomotso by the shoulder and pulled her skirt up. The woman began resisting and fighting with the rapist.
Her son also hit the man while screaming at the rapist to leave his mother alone.
When he did not get his way, the angry man turned his attention to 6-year-old Kutlwano Garesape, and stabbed him repeatedly with a broken bottle.
When he finally fled, Segomotso Garesape grabbed her son and ran to get help. Sadly, the boy died in his mother’s arm.
Police were able to catch the suspect, who was identified as 32-year-old Teselo Dikole of Jan Kempdorp.
Police spokesman Captain Olebogeng Tawana confirmed that Dikole was arrested on charges of murder and attempted rape.
