A grandfather was arrested on a charge of sexual assault after being accused of having a sexual relationship with his daughter and two granddaughters, according to police in Australia.
Now, the 78-year-old grandfather of Illawarra, who was not identified, has been sentenced to serve 3 and a half years in prison after being convicted of sexual assault.
People are angry after learning about the extremely lenient sentenced against the pedophile.
According to the police investigation, all the victims were around five years old when the grandfather began having sex with them.
The abuse continued for a significant period of time. However, the victims never reported the crimes to the police.
The crimes only came to light three years ago, after all three victims, the mother and her two daughters, spoke about the abuse they suffered at the hands of the grandfather for over 30 years.
The grandfather will be eligible for parole next year due to his ill health.
