Angelina Jolie will still teach at London School of Economics following Brad Pitt separation

Despite the off-screen drama currently engulfing her personal life, Angelina Jolie isn’t calling cut on her plans to teach at a prestigious British university next year.

The film star who stunned the entertainment world last week by filing for divorce from Brad Pitt remains set to become a visiting professor at the London School of Economics, where she’ll instruct grad students seeking a degree in Women, Peace and Security.

“She is going to be a visiting professor next year, 2017,” a spokesperson for the school told People magazine. “The post starts in September 2017.”

The 40-year-old Jolie a special envoy for the United Nations refugee agency was named one of the four visiting instructors for the university’s new master’s program in May.

“I am looking forward to teaching and to learning from the students as well as to sharing my own experiences of working alongside governments and the United Nations,” she said in a statement at the time.

“I hope other academic institutions will follow this example, as it is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women’s rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict,” she continued.

The confirmation that she won’t be cutting class on the new program comes a week after her 12-year relationship with Pitt reached its shocking finale.

Jolie filed for divorce for “the health of the family” according to her lawyer, and is seeking sole physical custody of their six kids. She was highly displeased with how he was raising their children as well as his partying ways, TMZ reported last week.

The 52-year-old Pitt, meanwhile, reportedly intends to fight for joint physical custody, which will likely be the biggest sticking point in their divorce since they have a detailed prenuptial agreement over who gets what financially in the split.

Before Jolie ships out to London, she’s spending at least some time in a new oceanfront mansion. The actress and her family moved into a five-bedroom Malibu estate right off the Pacific Ocean in the wake of her split from Pitt, TMZ reports.

Jolie and Pitt fell for each other on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” in 2004 and made their relationship official a year later, following Pitt’s divorce from Jennifer Aniston.

The duo married in 2014.
