A family is angry after learning that a man sexually abused his daughters, his wife’s daughter as well as his dog and chickens.
The family of Adelaide, Australia, became even more frustrated when the judge sentenced the man to seven and a half years in prison, but he can be paroled after only three years.
He was also given credit for the time he already served, so to the family’s dismay, he will likely be out in less than three years.
The court heard that the 27-year-old man, who was not named for legal reasons, was sexually abused as a child when he was forced to have sexual contact with dogs.
Although he sexually abused his own daughters, the sex abuse was mostly towards his stepdaughter. He abused the girl between the ages of 9 and 11 years old, while she was sleeping.
The man finally came clean in a letter to his wife. She called police and she left him.
The father pleaded guilty to two counts of bestiality, one count of persistent sexual exploitation of a child and one count of aggravated indecent assault.
Judge Mascot said the sentence “might seem moderate to some, but it was the result of the man’s confessions, remorse and strong motivation to recover.”
The father also consented to an order that bans him from seeing or contacting his family. He will also go into a program to get treatment to suppress his urges.
