An elementary school teacher was arrested on a charge of sexual assault after allegedly breaking into a woman’s home and raping her, according to police in Japan.
Ina police said that they have arrested 38-year-old Hayashi Kamiya, after being accused of breaking into the sleeping woman’s home in middle of the night and raping her.
Kamiya has been charged with one count each of breaking and entering, and sexual assault. According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Sunday around 2:00 a.m.
The woman told police that she went to sleep in her bed and woke up around 2:00 a.m., to find the suspect lying on top of her.
She pushed him away, and Kamiya fled from the scene. The woman immediately called the police, and Kamiya was arrested.
Kamiya has been suspended from the school, pending the outcome of the investigation.
