Woman passes out from heroin overdose with baby in her lap at the wheel of stolen car

 A mother was arrested on a charge of child neglect after allegedly passing out at the wheel of a stolen vehicle while holding her child on the lap, according to police in Florida.

Nocatee police said that they have arrested 29-year-old Amanda Marie Ray, after being accused of stealing a car and overdosing on heroin while she was taking care of her baby.

Ray was charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, grand theft auto, possession of heroin and child neglect.

She was booked into the St. Johns County Jail, and her bail has been set at $11,000.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called by concerned citizens after they noticed Ray passed out behind the wheel of a car.

Police officers who responded to the scene, found Ray with a baby on her lap. She was parked at the Shell station located at 40 Settlement Drive.

Officers checked the car’s tags, and they learned that the vehicle was stolen from Kentucky. Ray was named as a suspect of the theft.

Police also found heroin and syringes in the vehicle. A family member took custody of the baby before Ray was revived and taken to jail.
