Man arrested for the abuse and neglect of over 260 dogs in his animal shelter

People in Hawaii, who were unable to care for their pet dogs, were welcomed to drop their dogs off at a no-kill shelter.

However, they never could have imagined that their dogs may be worse off there.

The Hawaiian Humane Society confiscated more the 260 dogs from the Friends For Life shelter, which is located along Farrington Highway in Makaha.

David “Lanny” Moore was arrested on charges of animal cruelty after many of the dogs were found to be in poor condition, with no food or water on the premises.

Hawaiian Humane Society released photos of the dogs, some of which were malnourished and others had terrible skin conditions.

They said that they found only rotting food, which was being eaten by bugs, with urine all over the place.

However, his attorney said that Moore is looking forward to his day in court so that he can clear his name. He believes that he treated the dogs well.

A neighbor said that Moore cared for the dogs to the best of his ability and that he did not have money to pay for a veterinarian. He did have doctors who volunteered their time on occasion.

The Hawaiian Humane Society said that they are also looking for a speedy trial as they want the dogs to find permanent and loving homes, and that cannot be done before the case is resolved.
