One dead, two injured in Anambra auto crash

One person died while two others were injured in a lone motor accident along Onitsha-Enugu expressway, Awka, Anambra state.

The accident which occurred around the State Government House involved a white coloured Honda Odessey car with three persons on board.

Eyewitnesses said that the other injured occupants were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

He said the driver of the vehicle was on high speed when he suddenly skidded off the road and crashed into the side drainage.

Confirming the crash, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Mr Andrew Kumapayi, blamed the crash on over speeding.

He said, “Two males and one female were in the white coloured car, Honda Odessey with registration number, AWK 716 DU.

“But only one person, a male was confirmed dead.”

Kumapayi said the deceased was taken to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Amaku, Awka, hospital.
