Notorious leader of Black Axe cult group arrested in Lagos

An alleged vicious killer and notorious cultist Adegboro Odunwole alias Gobe has been arrested by police in Lagos.

Odunwole, said to be a leader of the Black Axe cult group in Bariga, was arrested on Friday afternoon at Akilo Street.

He was said to have been on the police command’s wanted list for alleged involvement in several clashes  and deaths.

Police spokesman Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), said he would be charged to court.

He said the command also arrested a suspected traffic robber and recovered a locally made pistol with ammunition from him.

Elkana said the suspect, Emmanuel Daniel, 30, was arrested on October 29, around 4:30pm at Ipaja while attempting to snatch a bag from a woman at Boys Town.

“Policemen at Bariga also arrested a suspected phone snatcher Adewole Oluwatomi, 21, at about 7:30pm on Octver 27 around Ifelodun Street.

“The suspect used a knife to snatch an Itel phone from one Adeyemi Kayode, 15, inside Ebute Market. Police have recovered the phone stolen and the knife used. The suspect has confessed to the commission of the crime. He will be charged to court,” Elkana said.
