Governor’s aide urges opposition to support Tambuwal’s administration

Alhaji Yusuf Dingyadi, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, on Thursday urged opposition leaders to support the state government in its efforts to develop the state.

Dingyadi made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto.

He said Tambuwal’s pledge to work with every politician demonstrated his maturity and willingness to move beyond politics in bringing about development of the state.

Dingyadi commended Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other stakeholders on peaceful conduct of all elections in the state.

He urged leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to prevail on members of the party to be peaceful at all times.

According to him, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government in the state would continue to execute policies toward improving the wellbeing of the people.

Dingyadi explained that the government had floated youths and women empowerment schemes, and was working to complete projects started by the previous administration.

He urged people of the state to be law abiding and shun any group or individual promoting violence and thuggery.

The governor’s aide commended civil society organisations, community based organisations and traditional rulers on their support to the administration and in promoting peaceful coexistence.

He assured that the government remained committed to the fight against banditry and other crimes, and solicited for more support from the general public to ensure success.
