SS2 pupil, 23, jailed 14 years for raping minor in Kano

A High Court in Kano on Thursday sentenced one Ayuba Musa, 23, a Senior Secondary School 2 pupil in Bebeji Local Government Area to 14 years in jail for raping a 10-year-old girl.

The court sitting at Audu Bako Secretariat in the state capital said the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and established that Ayuba did commit the offence.

The prosecution had told the court that the convict, on April 19, 2017, lured the minor to his room in Ruwan Kaya Quarters in Tiga Village.

In her testimony before the court, the 10-year-old girl told the court that when the convict took her into his room, he turned on a television set and asked her to fondle him.

She further revealed that Ayuba removed her underpants  and penetrated her.

She said the pain she felt was unbearable and continued until she got home where, upon queries from her mother, she narrated what transpired.
