Mass burial looms in Osun as LAUTECH hospital moves to decongest morgue

Management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Teaching Hospital(LAUTECH), Osogbo, Osun State has issued a two-week removal ultimatum of corpses to families and relatives from their morgue.

According to a public announcement made on radio stations in Osogbo on Tuesday by the management of the hospital warned that corpses which are not claimed by relatives within the period of two weeks maybe package for mass burial.

It also noted that the hospital morgue is now filled to the brim thereby making it very difficult to accommodate fresh bodies.

“The management of LAUTECH teaching hospital Osogbo hereby call on the members of the public especially those who have corpses in the mortuary unit of the hospital to come and remove them within the next two weeks”

“We appeal to relatives who have corpses in the mortuary unit of our hospital to come and remove them. Please it should be noted that decongestion of the morgue is a routine exercise has nothing to do with the current pandemic COVID -19 infection.

“All Bodies not collected within the two weeks of this announcement may be packaged for mass burial.”
