Group petitions Buhari over Permanent Sec’s appointment

A pressure group, Oyo Good Governance Forum (OGGF), has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari over an alleged move by a director in the Federal Civil Service to fraudulently usurp Oyo slot for the appointment of Permanently Secretary.

In a statement jointly signed by its chairman Alhaji Lamidi Abiola Lateef and Secretary Prince Alao Babs Alakija in Abuja, the group alleged one, a director in service had claimed to be from Oyo State when she cannot trace her origin to anywhere in the state.

The group appealed to the Presidency to investigate the claim by the woman so as not to deny Oyo State indigenes their rightful place in the top echelon of the federal civil service.

In the petition, the group said the woman is believed to have been born in Oyo but not from the state, adding that OGGF findings show that the woman was from either Akwa Ibom or Cross Rivers.

“We can, therefore, not afford to sit and fold our hands while our State burns because of the inordinate desire of a woman that seeks to reach the aporgie of her profession by any means whether foul or fair.

“We are rather appalled by her audacity and is seeking to pull the wool over the eyes of the great people of Oyo by, in broad daylight, seeking to rob us of what is rightly ours,” the group added.

It appealed to Buhari to investigate the matter to unearth how a woman from another state has continued to make use of a state other than hers for so long without detection and bring the culprit(s) and their accomplices to book.
