Governor Uzodimma kicks off support for Police reforms, inspects facilities


In keeping to the tenets of democracy and harkening to the cries of Imo people, the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has visited the State police facilities and raised a Committee of Inquiry to look into the complaints and grievances of the people against against SARS and the alleged police Brutality while he kicks off support for police reforms.

The state Governor stated that it is necessary to give the Nigerian Police the proposed training and make sure the welfare package available to the force is also reasonable.

The Governor, in his tour, visited some of the police Barracks and other facilities of the Nigerian Police force to ascertain where to upgrade.

He further promised to support the Nigerian police training programs and help correct the alleged wrong attitude of the force.

“The youths are the future leaders of our country, they have made complaints and it is our responsibility as leaders to look into those complaints” Uzodimma stated. 

Present with the State Governor were: Chief Judge of State, Hon. Justice Ijeoma Agugua; Barr. C.O. Akaolisa, Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Imo State; the Commission of Police and his officers; Barr. Cosmos Iwu, SSG; Hon. Mrs. Nneamaka Okafor, SA to the Governor on New and Electronic Media and Some Exco members. 

“In agreement and unity, we will make sure that all those anomalies the people complain against the police force will be taken care of” Uzodimma stated.
