Buhari greets His Royal Majesty Owong Effiong Bassey at 58

President Muhammadu Buhari has joined Akwa Ibom State Council of Chiefs in celebrating His Royal Majesty Owong (Dr) Effiong Bassey on his 58th birthday, congratulating the political scientist, businessman and administrator for dedicating his time and resources to service of community and humanity.

President Buhari noted the contributions of His Royal Highness to national development, particularly in sustenance of peace in the Niger Delta, and commitment in building his domain through education, and sensitization on civic responsibilities.

As the former two-term National Chairman of Traditional Rulers of Oil Minerals Producing Communities of Nigeria (TROMPCON), and now National Life Patron, turns 58, the President affirms that his role in development of the region remains exemplary.

President Buhari prayed for the wellbeing of the royal father, who had served as State Chairman of Akwa Ibom Council of Chiefs for a long period.
