Man Bags Two Years Jail Term for LandFraud

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on Monday, February 21, 2022, convicted one Wilfred Fajemisin, for the possession of fraudulent documents following his prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for an alleged land scam.

The EFCC had on July 6, 2020 arraigned Fajemisin before Justice Taiwo on a three-count charge related to the forgery of the signatures of the Deed of Assignment in relation to a landed property.
In the course of the trial, the prosecution, led by S.O. Daji and Babatunde Osinoiki, presented seven witnesses and tendered several documents to prove the case against him.
The defence also called three witnesses including the defendant.
Delivering judgment today, Justice Taiwo found him guilty as charged sentenced him to two years in prison. He was however given an option of fine of N500,000.
