Court sentences suspect caught with 220 gram drugs to prison

The suspect Md Ali Nur Rahman, who was arrested in the drug operation in Nicosia, was brought before the court.

Police officer İbrahim Toz, who gave sworn testimony in the court, reported the facts. The police stated that the suspect, Md Ali Nur Rahman, received a suspicious package on the main road from Nicosia-Guzelyurt, between the iron railings under the underpass, in the information received at 09:00 on 16 August.

Police said that when the suspect went to his residence in Göçmenköy, he was seen throwing a suspicious package from the house.

The police noted that there was a drug believed to be marijuana weighing 220 grams in the package in question, and that they were given an indication.

Dust stated that it was determined that a wanted person from Southern Cyprus imported the subject matter in the possession of the suspect.

The police stated that the investigation, which could affect the suspect, was completed and demanded that the suspect be put on trial.

Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Hazal Hacımulla ordered the suspect to be held in prison for a period of not more than 2 months.
