Additional 3.31 percent inflation in August – General Index of Consumer Prices reveals

In the General Index of Consumer Prices, there was an increase of 3.31 percent compared to July and 118.18 percent compared to August last year.

According to the Consumer Prices General Index published by the Statistical Institute, inflation increased by 3.31 percent in August compared to July; Annual inflation rose to 118.18 percent.

The index increased by 70.38 percent compared to December last year and by 118.18 percent compared to August 2022.

According to the main expenditure groups, the highest increase was 20.66 percent in the entertainment and culture main group compared to the previous month.

6.83 percent in the main group of miscellaneous goods and services; 5.88 percent in the main group of furniture, household appliances and home care services; 4.83 percent in the main health group; 3.79 percent in the main group of food and non-alcoholic beverages; 2.85 percent in the main group of alcoholic beverages and tobacco; 1.77 percent in the main group of restaurants and hotels; 1.28 percent in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels main group; 1.28 percent in the main education group; There was an increase of 1.14 percent in the main group of communication.

According to the announced index, a decrease of 4.30 percent was recorded in the transportation main group and 4.09 percent in the clothing and footwear main group.

The first three goods with the highest price increase; Newspaper with an increase of 100 percent, pumpkin with an increase of 90.93 percent and lottery tickets with an increase of 66.67 percent, the highest price decrease was seen in grapes with 40.07 percent, nectarine with 19.64 percent and plums with 17.58 percent.
