Gamabel personnel in Famagusta ends strike, resume garbage collection

Gamabel personnel in Famagusta, who started their work stoppage because they could not receive their salaries, ended after the agreement on ’employee salaries’. As of today, garbage collection has started in Famagusta.

Gamabel personnel working within the Famagusta Municipality carried out a strike action on the grounds that insurance investments were not made and they could not receive their salaries.

The garbage accumulated after the employees of the company, which has been in action since the beginning of the week, did not collect the garbage, created a ‘garbage city’.

According to Cyprus Post, the Gamabel company, the union and the municipality came together on a common point regarding the salaries of the employees.

After the agreement made in Famagusta, garbage has started to be collected as of today.

The salaries of the employees who terminate the work stoppage and start their routine work will be deposited in their accounts within two hours.
