Suspect with fake identity card arrested in Ercan

The suspect DA, who was caught trying to exit Ercan Airport with a fake ID, was arrested and taken to court.

The police determined that the suspect entered the country on April 4 with a 60-day visa, did not leave on June 3, and resided without permission.

The suspect was sent to the Central Prison for 2 months until her case were discussed. 

Police officer Ozan Kuşak gave information about the incident in court.

The police said that the suspect tried to impersonate someone else and obtain a registration by false behavior by giving her Italian identity card registered under another name to the immigration officer in order to leave Ercan Airport at 08:10 on September 27 and go to Germany.

Stating that she was detected red-handed by the immigration officer on duty, the police noted that the suspect was arrested on the same day. 

The police said that it was determined that the suspect entered the country on April 4, 2022 with a 60-day visa, did not leave on June 3, and resided without permission.

Stating that the suspect, who voluntarily gave a statement on the matter, confessed to her crime, the police said that in the examination carried out on the ID in question at the PGM Forgery branch, it was determined that there were differences between the picture on the ID and the suspect.  

The police stated that the investigation initiated against the suspect was completed and demanded that the suspect be kept in detention in the Central Prison for 2 months.

Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Nil Elodie Çeliker ordered that the suspect be held in prison for no more than 2 months.
