Suspect wanted for theft arrested at Girne port

Faruk Yılmaz, the suspect wanted for theft, was detected and arrested while trying to exit the Girne Tourism Port. Yılmaz, who was brought before the court, will be detained by the police for 3 days for investigation purposes.

The suspect Faruk Yılmaz, who was detected and arrested while trying to exit the Girne Tourism Port, while he was wanted for theft charge, was brought before the court.

Yücel Kuşcuoğlu, the police officer who gave sworn testimony in the court stated that the suspect Faruk Yılmaz was involved in the crime of circus.

Kuşcuoğlu stated that a total of 2,200 TL of money belonging to Hamza Faruk and his brother was stolen in the Ağıllar region of Haspolat between 08:00 and 19:00 on October 7, 2022.

The police stated that the suspect wanted in the matter was arrested on 9 October while trying to leave the Girne Tourism Port, and stated that the suspect did not accept the accusations and made some allegations.

Saying that the suspect’s allegations should be investigated, Kuşcuoğlu demanded that the suspect be detained for 3 days so that the investigation could be conducted safely.

Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Nil Elodie Çeliker ordered the suspect to be detained in the police for 3 days for investigation purposes.
