Ramazan Gündoğdu call for tourism investment in TRNC

The Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD) TRNC President Ramazan Gündoğdu stated that there are very attractive investment opportunities in many regions of the TRNC, “I call on Turkish business people to invest in tourism in the TRNC.”

MUSIAD EXPO, of which Anadolu Agency is the Global Communication Partner, was held on 2-5 November at TUYAP Istanbul Fair and Congress Center. Domestic and foreign visitors showed great interest in the fair where 600 companies from 24 sectors took part.

MUSIAD TRNC President Ramazan Gündoğdu stated that they participated in the 19th MUSIAD EXPO 2022 Trade Fair with 31 institutions and organizations from the TRNC.

Expressing that the successful performance of MUSIAD senior management also affected them, Gündoğdu said that MUSIAD Cyprus consists of members operating in many sectors from production to education.

Gündoğdu stated that Turkey is in the position of a bridge connecting the TRNC to the world economically and that Turkey has the most important share in the foreign trade of the TRNC.

Expressing that the TRNC faced serious problems in terms of exports due to the embargoes, Gündoğdu emphasized that tourism is very important for Cyprus.

Drawing attention to the increase in the number of tourists coming to the TRNC, Gündoğdu continued:

“Once upon a time, we had around 1.7 million tourists. It is expected that 2022 will be completed with 6.7 million visitors. Previously, only Turkey-based tourists came, but today, those who come to Southern Cyprus from Europe spend some of their days in Northern Cyprus. I can easily say that investment opportunities in TRNC have increased with these developments in tourism.

Casino tourism still has customers on the island, but we see that there is a need for hotels that do not have casinos anymore. Demands are intensifying in this direction. Hotels that no longer have casinos should also be in our country. The beaches of our Cyprus are one of the few beaches in the world.

There is no need to talk about the quality and cleanliness of the sea anyway. Our country needs tourism investments. There are very attractive investment opportunities in many parts of the island. In this sense, I call on Turkish business people to invest in tourism in the TRNC.”

Expressing that Turkish families can send their children to TRNC with peace of mind, Gündoğdu said that the quality of universities in the country has increased.
