Governorship Election: David Mark loses polling unit

A former Senate President, David Mark on Saturday lost his polling unit during the governorship election.


Mark, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party was defeated at his VIP Otukpo club polling unit as PDP garnered 117 votes while the All Progressives Congress polled  216.

The APC governorship candidate,  Mr.  Emmanuel Jime won at his ward at Polling Unit 011, Ndabagi, North Bank,  Makurdi.

He polled 159 votes to defeat his APC rival, Mr. Samuel Ortom, who got 19 votes.

However, Ortom at his Gbajimba ward in Guma LGA,  polled 732 to pummel Jime who got zero vote.


Ortom also got 124 votes at Benue State Government House to defeat Jime who polled 108.

It could be recalled that during the presidential election, APC polled 125 as against PDP’s 124 votes.

A former Benue State Governor, Senator George Akume delivered for APC in his polling unit 009, Annune Market Square, Mbaikyo, Mbaria,  Tarka LGA. APC polled 308 while PDP got 25 votes.
