The State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) of the Lagos State Police Command, Panti, Yaba, on Friday arrested Prophet David Babalola of Presence Redemption Ministries, for allegedly making false allegations against his landlord.

The police accused Babalola, whose church is located at 13, Folorunsho Street, Off Ajayi Road, Aguda, Ogba, Lagos, of making the false complaint about his landlord, one Joseph Agaga on November 4 last year.

The police alleged that Babalola reported that his landlord wanted to forcibly take over the premises on which the church was located, which led to the arrest and detention of the landlord.

The police said upon conclusion of its investigation into the matter, the evidence it found suggested that the land in dispute belongs to Agaga.

Babalola was arraigned before Mrs. Hellen Omisore of the Ebute-Meta Magistrates’ Court, Yaba, Lagos on a charge of conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

The offence, according to the prosecutors, Mr. A. Innocent and Inspector Cousin Adams, is contrary to and punishable under Section 95(C) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
