An elderly man who was angry about receiving a large bill for listening
to a pre-recorded sex line, called the police for help, according to
police in Germany.
Bavaria police said that they have launched an investigation after the
84-year-old man, who was not identified, was charged $275 for listening
to the pre-recorded sex message on his home phone.
According to the victim, he decided to call the sex hotline after seeing
an advertisement on TV in middle of the night. He called the number on
his home phone, and expected to talk with a live woman.
However, all he heard was a pre-recorded sex message. After about two
minutes, he hung up the phone in frustration. A few weeks later, he got a
mandatory service charge for $100.
The man was angry as the ad promised that the charge was only $1.10 a
minute. Several weeks later, he received a threatening letter, and the
charge increased to $275.
The man called police to say that he feels he was defrauded and cheated.
