Man kills his 100-year-old grandfather after being told to bring home a wooden stick

 

A man was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly killing his
grandfather who told him to bring home a wooden stick, according to
police in Imo State, Nigeria.

Imo police said that they have arrested 22-year-old Chukwuebuka Umunna,
after being accused of killing 100-year-old Anusiem Umunna, who told him
to improve his behavior.

Chukwuebuka has been charged with one count of murder.

According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Monday.

A fight broke out between the grandfather and his grandson after he told
him to bring home a bamboo stick to use on the family farm.

Chukwuebuka told his grandfather to leave the house or he will pay a big
price. When Anusiem refused to leave the home, Chukwuebuka grabbed a
knife and cut up his grandfather.

The suspect’s younger brother Chigaemezu, who witnessed the attack, called for help. Anusiem was pronounced dead at the scene.

The father of the suspect, Julian, said that he was shocked to learn
about the murder as his son was his father’s favorite grandson.
