Man tries to rob Chuck E. Cheese’s during job interview claiming he had a gun and demanding key to safe

Police are looking to arrest a man on a charge of robbery after
allegedly trying to rob a restaurant during a job interview, according
to police in Kentucky.

Lexington police said that the suspect entered the Chuck E. Cheese’s
located in the Woodhill Shopping Center on Wednesday morning.

The man asked for a job application, and was told to come back later for
an interview. When the man returned for the interview, he claimed that
he had a gun and demanded cash.

He asked for a key to the safe, but was told that no one had access to it. He was then persuaded to leave the restaurant.

The entire incident was recorded on video. In a bizarre twist of events,
the thief apologized to employees and began to cry. So far, the suspect
remains at large.

Later that night, officers responded to a robbery at a Dollar General
store located on Bryan Station Road. The store clerk told police that a
man implied that he had a gun and demanded money.

Employees gave the robber money, and he then fled the store. Police
believe that the robber is the same man who tried to rob the Chuck E.
Cheese’s earlier in the day.
