A woman of South Africa, said that she was shocked to learn that her
husband announced his engagement to another woman on Facebook.
Mvuselelo Qolwana, 43, and his wife, Nontsikelelo, 42, have been married for 14 years, and they have three children together.
Nontsikelelo said that when she discovered that her husband was cheating
on her, she felt betrayed. However, she decided to forgive him to keep
their family together.
Nontsikelelo of Port Elizabeth, said that her friend came to her and
told her that she saw on the Facebook page of her husband that he
announced his engagement to another woman.
In the message he wrote: “I am so happy, I am getting married.”
Nontsikelelo said that at first when she confronted her husband about
it, he denied everything.
“I got angry and broke his cellphone and SIM card,” she said.
However, her husband eventually admitted to it and he assured his wife
that he will not divorce her, but instead, the younger and more educated
woman, will be his second wife.
Nontsikelelo said that she made it clear to her husband that she does not want to be in a polygamous marriage.
When questioned, Mvuselelo said that he will not divorce his first wife.
“This is my final decision, she must accept it,” he said.
When Mvuselelo’s fiancee was contacted, she denied knowing him, and she said that she was not engaged to anyone.
