‘500,000 teachers recruitment must involve TRCN’

The Registrar/Chief Executive of Teachers Research Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Prof  Olusegun Ajiboye has said that the council must be fully involved in the 500, 000 recruitment of teachers being planned by the Federal Government.

Ajiboye, who stated this while speaking with newsmen in Ibadan, lauded the idea of the federal government to recruit more teachers, but noted that the TRCN must be included in all the processes of the recruitment for quality assurance.

He also vowed to flush out quackery in the teaching profession while promising to have a comprehensive data on the number of registered and qualified teachers in Nigeria.
According to him, the quality of education of a nation is strongly influenced by the quality of its teachers.
