A father in Turkey, revealed that he cannot understand why his family suffered from food poisoning while celebrating the survival of an earlier episode of food poisoning.
Alattin Erdal of Tekirdag, said that he slaughtered an animal and hosted a dinner to show gratitude in overcoming a previous bout of illness.
The family served the animal to friends and neighbors at dinner after which 25 people suffering from food poisoning.
Erdal hopes that his family and friends have suffered enough, and said that he could not make sense of what they had experienced.
Several weeks ago, the family had suffered stomach pains after Alattin’s wife Asiye Erdal, cooked dinner and served the food to more than 20 people.
Everyone who attended the dinner was hospitalized. Most were released the same day, but four people remained in the intensive care unit for a week.
Upon returning home, they decided to carry out a thanksgiving dinner with their neighbors. However, the people at the dinner began to suffer the same symptoms.
A total of 25 people were hospitalized for food poisoning, of which 21 were discharged from after receiving treatment. The treatment of the remaining four was ongoing in the intensive care unit.
Alattin Erdal said that from now on, he will be extremely careful with the food he serves his family and friends.
