A rapper was left with severe injuries to his leg after he was allegedly seen on video shooting himself in the leg before opening fire on a crowd of people.

However, the aspiring rapper is now suing the Irving Plaza Concert Hall in New York, for allowing guns into their venue.

Roland Collins, 30, who goes by the stage name Troy Ave, was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm and attempted murder over the shooting that took place in the backstage VIP, where the night’s performers were seated.

He is free on $500,000 bail.

Collins, who was shot in the legs during the fight, claims that he is the victim, and is now suing the venue for not patting down people to check them for weapons before allowing them to enter the venue through a side door.

The video that allegedly shows Collins firing the gun that night, was uploaded to the Internet. In the video, Collins appears to have accidentally shot himself in the leg.

Despite video evidence, the rapper and his lawyer, Scott Leemon, maintain that he did not bring a firearm into the venue.

Police had initially believed Collins shot and killed his friend Ronald McPhatter during the violent incident, as the gun linked to his death was allegedly found in Collins’ car.

However, they now believe the shooter was someone else.

The lawsuit states that Collins was left with “injuries which will forever affect his life, his career and his pursuits.”
