While many people work hard to win their political seat, one man went on the ballot as a joke and he won.

The man of Norway, who is a rock star, is upset that he will have to serve as a council member for two years.

Gylve Nagell, better known as Fenriz, said that he went on the ballot as a prank, with the slogan “don’t vote for me.”

Nagell, who is part of the heavy metal band Darkthrone, become a candidate on a back up list for the election in his hometown of Kolbotn.

Nagell explained that someone called him and asked if he wanted to be on the list as a backup representative.

He said that he was told by officials that they wanted more people on their list just to boost numbers.

He was also told that he was number 18 on the list and therefore, he figured that he won’t have to do anything.

Nagell took a photo of himself holding his cat and he wrote: “Don’t vote for me.”

However, people took him seriously and they voted for him. Nagell now thinks that his cat, named Peanut Butter, likely stole the hearts of voters.

Nagell is now forced to serve on the council for two years. As a backup, he has to step in when the other politicians have meetings call in sick, or they take off for any reason.

“I will have to go sit there and feel stupid among the straight people,” he said.
