Baby dies while her mother participates in protest over police shooting

A mother in Maryland, lost her baby while participating in a protest against police.

Baltimore Police said in a news release that the baby’s mother was one of 30 people who gathered to protest on Saturday.

The group was protesting at the scene, where police shot a man who was carrying a knife on Friday.

Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said that the man who was shot, had two knives and was threatening people, who in response called police.

While police were patrolling the area during the protest, people approached an officer to ask for help in saving the life of a baby girl who was not breathing.

The baby was inside a restaurant with her mother at the time.

The officer, Major Richard Gibson, ran to the child’s aid and performed CPR until the paramedics arrived.

The one-month-old baby was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Police said that according to witnesses, the baby’s mother entered the restaurant to feed the baby, and at some point, she realized that the child was not breathing.

The cause and manner of the baby’s death will be determined by the state coroner.

The two officers who shot the knife yielding man, were identified as Officer Gary Brown, a 16-year veteran of the department, and Officer Supreme Jones, a two-year veteran. They are both on administrative leave, police said.
