Woman arrested in Bangkok airport for having 57 packets of cocaine in her stomach

A woman was taken to a hospital after an X-ray machine detected something in her stomach.

32-year-old Luliia Makushova, was arrested after she raised suspicion at the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand.

When she entered the security checkpoint at the airport, the agents decided to put her through an X-ray scan and they discovered that she had drugs hidden in her stomach.

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was kept under police supervision.

Doctors gave her laxatives in order to get the drugs out of her system. It took five days for Makushova to pass all of the packets of cocaine from her system.

Police recovered a total of 57 packets of cocaine from her stomach. The cocaine weighed 650 grams.

According to police, Makushova said that she was paid $3,500 to smuggle the cocaine from Sao Paulo, Brazil, to Bangkok, Thailand.

Makushova was charged with carrying drugs into the country and possessing them for sale.
