North-East PDP declares support for Sheriff

The North East zone of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has declared their support and solidarity to the National Chairman of the party Senator Ali Modu Sheriff ahead of the party’s convention.

The position of the zone was contained in a communique read by the zonal publicity secretary of the party, Shettima Bukar Jallaba at Shehu Abubakar Hotel, Gombe, Gombe state on Sunday.

According to the communique after an exhaustive deliberations which was chaired by the zonal chairman, Ambassador Emmanuel Jiwa, the meeting resolved among others to be calling for regular meetings.

It also commended the resilience of the delegates in thrashing out thorny issues that was an impediment to the smooth running of the party in the zone.

The statement also resolved to declare its support and solidarity to the National chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, in view of the fact that he came from the zone.

To this end, it mandated the zonal officials to reach out to other members in the zone ahead of the party’s convention so that the zone will go to the convention with one voice.

The meeting also commended the various efforts and support rendered by the Taraba state governor, Isiaku Darius and his Gombe state counterpart, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo to the party at the zonal level.

Delegates from Yobe, Taraba, Adamawa and Borno states attended the zonal meeting.
