Car crushes mother, two kids in Bayelsa

There was a tragedy  in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, yesterday, after a mother and her two children were crushed to death by a car.

The incident, which happened along the Isaac Boro expressway, was reportedly caused by the driver’s over speeding and loss of control.

The incident occurred at about 9.30pm and involved a Toyota Sienna with plate number ACA 644 AA and a tricycle,  with registration number, Yen 828 WC

The driver of the tricycle identified as Kingsley and father of the deceased kids was said to be in coma.

It was gathered that the Toyota Sienna which was coming from the Oxbow Lake end of the road lost control following  overspeeding and crashed into the waiting tricycle on the other side of the road killing the woman and her two children on the spot.

It was learnt that the deceased woman and her two children were killed on the spot while the tricycle driver was unconscious when he was rushed to the hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, the corpses of the victims were deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa by a police patrol team.

An official of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the tragic accident.

Contacted the state police public relations officer,  Mr. Asinim Butswat confirmed the incident saying a mother and two children were killed while the driver of the tricycle was in coma.
