EFCC Closes Case against AVM Omenyi

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 17, 2018 Tony Omenyi (retd), Vice President of Air Resources, is looking forward to divesting N136 million for the purchase of arms by the military.

Omenyi is being prosecuted along with Huzee Nigeria Limited, on an amended three-count batch preferred against him by the EFCC.

The prosecuting counsel, MS Abubakar, had presented his fifth witness, Goji Mohammed, to EFCC operative, who told the court that he was investigating the arms deal scandal, suspicious transactions were linked to Omenyi and Huzee Nigeria Limited.

He said: “We have discovered that Huzee Nigeria Limited is a co-signatory company with FCMB. The NAFA and the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, are pleased to announce that it has been released by Huzee Nigeria Limited response to requests made to them in the course of investigations, indicated that “in 2013 NAF awarded contracts to Cyrus Technology with contract sum of N1.2 billion”. While being cross-examined, Muhammad noted that Omenyi was not a member of the NAF’s procurement planning committee, “but he attended the meeting and the recommendation for the award based on his presentation”.
