N359m FSMLT Fraud: Court grants EFCC leave to file additional proof of evidence against Etukudo

Justice D. D. Longji of the State High Court sitting in Jos, on Tuesday, July 10 2018, granted an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to file additional proof of evidence, in a matter involving the embattled Provost of Federal School of Medical Laboratory Technology, FSMLT, Jos, Plateau State, Dr. Nkereuwem Sunday Etukudo.


Etukudo is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, alongside Yusuf Samuel, Accountant, FSMLT; Ernest Demtoe, Secretary of Tenders Board, FSMLT; Goodluck Echewa, and Esio Udoh, both contractors of FSM on a 15-count charge of conspiracy, diversion of funds to the tune of N359million.

In his ruling, Justice Longji dismissed the argument of Solomon Umoh, SAN, counsel to Etukudor and granted the prosecution’s application.

Thereafter, Solomon Okeleke, counsel to EFCC, informed the court of the readiness of the prosecution to proceed with the case, as it had five witnesses already in court.


His words: “My Lord, we have five witnesses in court now and we are ready to proceed with the trial”.

However, Umoh informed the court that “we have filed a further and better affidavit before the court alongside with a motion for extension of time within which to bring in the better and further affidavit”.

In the circumstance, the court adjourned to October 18 and 19, 2018 for continuation of trial.
