NDDC Forensic Audit is yielding results, says Alasoadura

The Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, has assured Nigerians that the forensic audit ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari had started yielding desired results.

He said the Federal Government has planned to carry out a situation analysis on projects executed in the Niger-Delta Region.

Alasoadura disclosed this on Tuesday when he received a delegation from Arogbo Ijaw Kingdom in Ondo State, led by Oba Z.D Egbunu in his Ijapo residence, Akure.

According to the Minister, a critical assessment of the situation in the region will enable the present administration to assess the impact of activities and programmes in the region to enable him formulate new policy programmes in the drive to effectively address the challenges in the region.

He said” I have suggested to my colleague, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the need to support Olokola sea port. What makes Lagos the commercial nerve centre in our country is the sea port and we are going to achieve it.

“Our focus is to do legacy projects that all Niger Deltans will be proud of; he said” He assured them that the President is committed to changing the face of the region by tackling the challenges and opening up the region for begging enormous business opportunities. He charged the leaders to take home the message.

Justice C.E.T Ajama Rtd who spoke on behalf of the kingdom appreciated Mr. President for appointing Alasoadura to rescue the ugly situation facing the Niger Delta region.

He pleaded with the Minister that the Ministry should pay more attention to the Agadaba-Obon bridge that was abandoned by NDDC,works class skill acquisition centre at Agadagba that had been fully completed, which has not been put to effective usage since completion and Parama water scheme that was awarded by the Niger Delta Ministry.
