The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has congratulated elder statesman, Dr. Sam Sam Jaja on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
In a congratulatory message he personally signed, Senator Omo-Agege commended him for his patriotism and services to fatherland.
Specifically, the federal lawmaker lauded him for his immense contributions in the areas of sports and politics, while also praying to God to continue to preserve his life.
“Happy 70th birthday my dear Dr. Sam Sam Jaja. As we celebrate with you and family, we are most grateful to God for giving you the strength and the audacity to dare and for which you have achieved results, perhaps far beyond what 70 years could contain. These are especially in the turfs of sports and politics where you have carved niches, and in the service of our motherland and humanity in general.
“As the National Chairman of the Nigerian Referees Association, your giant strides were there for all to see and which are still being consolidated upon today by those that succeeded you. As the National Deputy Chairman of the then ruling People’s Democratic Party, yours was politics without bitterness. You clearly demonstrated what it should be like, to do the business of politics on an even keel. The tireless leadership you provided in our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State and beyond is widely acknowledged by all.
“The Holy Bible in Psalms 90:10, tells us in part that ‘The days of our years are threescore years and ten….’ The subsequent portions of the verse and the chapter and indeed the entire Bible pronounce grace for those who live to be 80 and more. This day I say to you that the grace of God is with you. It is sufficient for you. It will lead you through the rest of your life till you are 100 and beyond. You will remain in good health and in sound mind. You will not tire to work for humanity,” he said.
