NBA Visits Enugu Zonal Command, Pledges Support in Fight Against Cybercrime


The Security Agencies Relations Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association, Enugu Branch on Thursday August 5, 2021, paid a courtesy visit to the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The Committee led by ACP Ogechukwu Agbazue (rtd) disclosed that their mission was to join hands with the EFCC Enugu Zone to stamp out cybercrimes from the South East.

“Due to the increasing rate of yahoo yahoo, the nation is in trouble. We need synergy from all sectors to save Nigeria from impending doom.”  Agbazue observed that many not appreciate the job of the EFCC until they become victims.  

Dr Emeka Igwesi, a member of the committee, advised the EFCC to not only prosecute intellectually smart internet fraudsters but rehabilitate, reform and absorb them so that their intelligence would be used for the greater good of the society.

ACE 11 Oshodi Johnson, Head of the Enugu Zone thanked the team for the visit. “Corruption, especially cybercrimes crimes has evolved. We cannot afford to sit and watch corruption take over every part of the nation because we may not know who their next victim would be and what effect that action could have on us individually and as a nation”, Oshodi said.

Deputy Director of Legal and Prosecution, Enugu Zone, DCE George Ademola thanked the committee and assured them that the doors of the Commission are open.
