The apex leader of owerri zone, prince Lemmy Akankem on 27th July , 2021 received 5000 decampees from PDP , APGA AA into the APC family in Orji .

Elated prince Lemmy Akankem who could not hide his happiness said that the achievements of the shared prosperity Government of Gov Hope Uzodimma must have triggered the mass defection.

According to Akakame,the defection wouldn’t have been possible had the people not seen the good works of Gov Hope Uzodimma.

In his words “you defection and registration into our party has afforded you all the opportunity to be bonafide members our great party , in no distant time PDP will soon empty itself into APC, I assure you today that that everyone of you will be carried along in the scheme of things”.

Prince went further to enumerate the benefits and people oriented  projects sited by  Gov Hope Uzodimma in orji ward to include ,3 solar powered borehole at nkwo orji, solar powered covid19 deep freezer, Reconstruction of hardel umudagu road through NDDC, Rehabilitation of ibe street leading to orji secondary school, free fertilizer for 10 orji farmers, award of contract for 6 orji women for the free lunch program of imo state government for primary schools, recruiting , training and empowerment of 3 orji youths as constabulary police, appointment of orji sons and daughters as special advisers, appointment of orji son chijioke okoroafor as owerri north youth leader and many other things too numerous to mention.

Amongst the leaders present at the event are ,Barri Tony umezuruike Former commissioner of water resources, Austin Achilike, Hon Beulah chukwuma SA to governo on tourism, Hon chinedu Akakame SSA to the governor on housing development, Chief Julie Egbo woman leader Ohanaeze Ndi_igbo and other retinue of leaders of Owerri north.
