One killed, 10 injured in Kwara auto crash

The Kwara Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed one person dead and 10 others injured in a crash which occured on Saturday night.

The Kwara Sector Commander, Corps Commander Jonathan Owoade told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin that the crash, which occured at Lumoh village on Olooru-Shao road involved two vehicles.
Owoade however attributed the mishap to Speed Violations (SPV).
“There was a fatal crash this evening, involving two vehicles, a commercial Volkswagen Sharon Bus with registration number KEY 875 ZF and a commercial DAF trailer with registration number T-8326 LA.
“11 people were involved; 10 were injured and sadly one person lost his life.
“The victims have been taken to Bertholem Clinic, Kanbi, while the corpse have been taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.
“The rescue team is working to control traffic at the scene while effort is being made to remove obstructions on the road,” Owoade said.
He advised relatives of the victims to visit the health facilities for their loved ones.
The sector commander reiterated the corp’s commitment to ensuring lives and properties are secured on the roads.
