…Commander calls on Parents to protect their Children/wards

The Zonal Commander, NAPTIP Lagos Command, Mr. Aganran Ganiu Alao has described the continuous vulnerability and weakness of young Nigerians, especially girls; to the lure and false promises of human traffickers and calls on parents to take more interest in the activities of their children.

The Commander made the call on Friday, 4th February, 2022; while receiving five young women returned to the Country to the care of NAPTIP, by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Lome-Togo.

The seven possible victims of trafficking (PVOTs) aged 18 to 20;  all recruited from Yenagoa, Bayelsa State; were lured to Togo on the invitation of a cousin to one of the PVOTs. They were intercepted by Togolese border patrol at the Hilancondji border, Togo.

The Command has commenced prompt investigations into the cases to bring the suspected traffickers to book if found culpable of the crime.
