Delta community chairman arrested for alleged drugs dealing

Chairman of Ugbomro community in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, Solomon Okodaso, has been arrested for allegedly dealing in hard drugs.

The suspect was arrested during a raid at a hideout in Atata Quarters of the community, Wednesday evening.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, had issued a directive to all tactical teams, DPOs and Area Commanders to embark on intelligence-led raids to curb activities of drug cartels and abuse of drugs in the State.
A statement by police spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, listed exhibits recovered from the suspect to include “12 bottles of codeine, 14 sachets of tramadol, one and half compressed sack of loud, 73 wraps of weeds suspected to be SK, 65 tablets of happy mood drugs, one pack of Colorado, one pack of Arizona, nine packets of razlers”.
Also recovered was N192,000 cash, one Samsung handset, one Infinix handset, one ash coloured Mercedes Benz c350 with registration number: KUJ 664 BH and one white coloured Lexus 330 vehicle with registration number: EFR 303 DC.
He added that the investigation was still ongoing.
